Gadget Shoppers Aware There Are Plenty Of IPad 2 Alternatives
While there are plenty of people who are drooling over the newest and best tablet PCs, there may be those who feel they are getting a bit pigeonholed by what device they can actually buy.
Of course anyone who is a gadget geek knows all about the iPad and the iPad 2, but what they may not know is that there are plenty of iPad 2 alternatives out there that can be had.
- Android and Google
One of the top competitors to Apple when it comes to the tablet PC is Google and their Android powered tablets have managed to surpass Apple over the last year in popularity. At least some of this success has to be thanks in large part to Apple releasing the iPad first and therefore allowing their competition something to gun for.
- Blackberry Playbook
One alternative that is still in the development stage is the Blackberry Playbook. The Playbook was actually one of the first competing tablet pcs when it was announced but for what ever reason fell behind other companies as far as release date. The Playbook has also been geared towards people who want to use it more for work than play and that approach will almost certainly bring in a certain type of clientele.
- Motorola Zoom
Another direct competitor which offers plenty of bells and whistles in the competition is the Motorola Xoom. Xoom runs on the Android Honeycomb OS making it one of the first devices to be built on this high tech build from Google.
Some of the iPad 2 alternatives are offered up as alternatives because they are quite cheap when comparing them to other tablet PCs. Of course these cheaper models will generally fall short in a number of different areas and anyone who buys one of these must be willing to understand that they get what they pay for. Apple will not offer up a cheaper alternative as they are well aware they can get good money for their product making almost all these cheaper alternatives Android based tablets.
Of course when talking about iPad 2 alternatives one has to understand that there will be those who are simply not interested in tablets that aren’t made by Apple for the simple fact that there are a brand of customer who is fiercely loyal to the brand name. In order to compete with that bias companies continue to look for different bells and whistles that Apple simply doesn’t offer.
